The IP of our Research Project, Barbara Boloix, participates this Wednesday, November 18th in the online seminar “Written tradition and oral transmission on holiness and holy women in Islam: work in progress”, organized by the Universities of Salamanca and Alicante. Her presentation, titled “Footprints of the Meriní Sultans in the Religious-Sufi Building of the Fes Dynasty”, will analyze the buildings of a religious-Sufi nature and function that the Meriní emirs erected in honor and memory of some women in their family. Likewise, throughout her speech, she will examine the legitimized purpose of this constructive policy with which not only were these women honored, but with which the religious leadership of this line was also increased in lands of Islamic West.
